OUR MISSION
Our mission is to empower youth and young adults from economically disadvantaged communities with the education and hands on experience that will afford them the opportunity to follow a career path in the music, arts and entertainment industry. By Incorporating career training, mental health care and nutritional education, we empower our scholars with the comprehensive life and career skills, essential for their success.

OUR PROGRAMS
Research has shown that neighborhoods with more arts activity have lower felony rates and more effective local schools. The presence of youth-serving organizations in a community is also associated with lower levels of crime and neighborhood violence.

Scholars will be introduced to the opportunities available in music promotion, distribution, concert touring, music publishing, music marketing, and artist management. All course assignments will prepare students for success in all desired fields. The End of Course Project assignments will include setting up a functional music production company and reviewed and critiqued by entertainment attorneys and various record label/production company representatives.
Music Business

Scholars will learn concepts and practices for Radio Broadcasting, receiving hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment and from professionals within the industry. Our program is designed to provide scholars with a fundamental knowledge and introduction to radio broadcasting, preparing them for a career as a station engineer, on-air personality, show producer, or editor. By having the hands on training the scholar learns the technical skills as well as the inner workings of a commercial radio station.
Radio Broadcasting

Scholars will be introduced to audio engineering fundamentals taught by experienced recording and mixing engineers, in a state-of-the-art recording studio. Our program is designed to provide scholars with a fundamental knowledge and introduction to audio engineering, preparing them for a career as an audio recording engineer or live music engineer with real-world, hands-on experience. By having the hands-on training scholars learn the technical skills as well as the inner workings of a professional recording studio.
The End of Course Project assignments will include setting up a recording session, recording a song, mixing and mastering. Each project will be reviewed and critiqued by professional engineers.
Audio Engineering

Scholars will be introduced to the concepts of recording, sequencing, and mixing using computer-based Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Topics covered include digital audio and MIDI theory, DAW signal flow and system requirements, MIDI sequencing, stereo mixing techniques, and use of software-based virtual instruments and effects processors. Scholars receive hands-on practice in digital music production in a state-of-the-art production studio.
Music Production

Scholars will be introduced to the fundamentals of Digital Marketing laying the foundation for understanding how to utilize the different digital marketing tools designed to improve business value and competitiveness. Scholars will be introduced to a wide range of topics including SEO, Content Strategy, Social Media Marketing, Web Analytics and Email Marketing.
Digital Marketing

Scholars will be introduced to photography as an art, a science and a communication tool. This workshop is an active learning experience where scholars will create original work. Some key areas of focus include Equipment, Lighting, Composition, Editing and Visual Problem-Solving. Scholars will be introduced to black and white photography and how to capture the best “Selfies!”
